Who We Are

Mater Filius was founded in March, 2003 in Mexico City as a non-profit Catholic Apostolate created to serve women facing an unexpected pregnancy. Children under the age of 5 are welcome at Mater Filius. We believe in keeping families together.

We are a volunteer-based Lay Association of the Faithful, relying on many loving and committed individuals giving of themselves in support of Defending Life with Love!™

The mission of Mater Filius is to defend life with love by helping pregnant women, offering a path forward through support, resources, and spiritual guidance, to nurture the lives of mothers and their children.

Our vision:

Our vision is to support women as they develop into the role of a mother. Through our workshops and mentoring program, we offer a path forward. The growth experienced at Mater Filius allows for a new and healthy lifestyle.

Our values:

At Mater Filius, we help women discover the value she has as a human being, to know the greatness that lies within her, and that she has the ability to love and be loved.

The following interview is the powerful story of Miriam’s health issues that led to a near death experience and how Our Blessed Mother was by her side.  Miriam experienced her judgement in front of Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother was interceding on her behalf.  Our Lady then invited Miriam to open the first Mater Filius in Mexico City!
