HOUSING
Each location provides a safe and tranquil home for women and their children under 5 years of age. A feeling of independence and privacy allows women to build confidence and familial relationships. Mater Filius is here to help women restore their dignity.
TRANSPORTATION
We provide transportation to doctor’s appointments, jobs, school, and other path-related activities.
LIFE SKILLS
We encourage women to learn how to plan and prepare meals for their families, clean and care for a home, care for themselves and their children, manage finances and many other life skills they will use after leaving the Mater Filius Home.
EDUCATION
If education is the woman’s path, she will be encouraged to continue the education she has started, enroll in GED classes, attend college or a certificate program. Through a list of resources, each Branch is able to connect women with scholarship opportunities in their communities.
JOB ASSISTANCE
We can help women prepare resumes, apply for jobs, and connect women with community employment resources. We are a working program!
HEALTH AND WELL BEING
We encourage women to arrange healthcare appointments and provide transportation. Our BLU*tique and various workshops will help women grow in spirit, mind, and body! Our goal is to help women create and develop a strong sense of self-awareness and confidence by discovering the greatness that lies in their hearts. It is a challenge to make life changes, but we walk with our families every step of the way.
CHILD ENRICHMENT
We offer our mothers and graduates, at no cost, an Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC). The ECLC serves children 6 weeks through 4 years of age.
BLU*TIQUE
We offer our mothers and graduates access to our BLU*tique. The boutique provides new and gently used clothing, shoes, toiletries, baby items, accessories, housewares and many other items.
GRADUATE SUPPORT
After graduates leave Mater Filius, they are not alone! A volunteer is assigned to be the contact person to help women with any of life’s emergencies. Our graduates are eligible to shop in the BLU*tique and enjoy monthly workshops. Their children are invited to attend the ECLC at no cost.
SPIRITUALITY
At Mater Filius, we meet women where they are and help families know they are beloved children of God.
